Weeping Skies begins with the legacy your father left you. You are the daughter of Sherlock Steel, a famous detective who passed away not too long ago. As his final wish, he wanted you to follow in his footsteps, something you gladly want to do since not only was it how you were raised, but you’re also very good at the whole detective thing. With everything set and ready to go, you get your first major case: A cat dressed in a trench coat and a fedora asks you to find his wife, a tall human woman.
This might hit you from left field, since all images of the city, the main character and the late Sherlock are all human. This adds an interesting and humorous angle to the story at this point. So, when the main character makes no mention of the fact a cat is giving her gold as payment, and that his wife should be his owner, you quickly realize that this is a normal interaction in this world. And in case you didn’t get used to it by now after the cat leaves you, your friend, who is a possum, is introduced and he stays with you throughout your journey.
Funny moments aside, you get your first case and get on with the investigation, a new villain seemingly emerging from the shadows and taking the blame for the kidnapping. You will need all your resources to solve this case, and it might go deeper than you think.
